Guy Quesnel is the friendly face at Elks Barber and is a third-generation barber operating this family business in New Westminster.

Guy (Elks Barber) is now working at GEM Barbershop located at 512 Sixth Street, New Westminster, BC.

Elks Barber is a classic or “old school” men’s barbershop, which is a welcoming and comfortable place. You will find a casual setting and wide-ranging conversation.

Heads Up! – May Schedule

I will take a few days off to join in the Victoria Day celebration.

The Barber Shop will be closed on Monday as usual, and Tuesday, May 20, through Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Elks Barber Shop will reopen on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 8:30 am and return to the regular schedule.

Come to the shop before May 17th. We’ll get you trimmed up and make you look your best.

Victoria Day in British Columbia is a statutory holiday celebrated on the Monday preceding May 25, honouring Queen Victoria’s birthday (May 24, 1819). But then you already knew that.

In 2025, it falls on May 19. It’s also informally seen as the kickoff to summer, with parades, festivals, and outdoor activities across the province. Did you know the United Nations organization UNESCO, considers New Westminster’s May Day an expression of “Living Culture”. New Westminster has hosted a May Day celebration for 155 years in a row.

Welcome to Elks Barber Shop in New Westminster Uptown.

Guy has been barbering for almost 40 years; yes it is hard to tell since Guy looks so young.

Tradition is going strong at Elks Barber Shop! While the location has changed a couple of times, Elks Barber Shop has been operating and serving in New Westminster for almost 60 years. Guy Quesnel has been running this family business since 1994 taking over from his father and grandfather.

Elks Barber Shop offers classic or “old school” barbering, a warm and casual atmosphere, and friendly conversation.
